Howdy. So I currently am shooting on a FS7, an A7SII and an A6300, but I am needing to pick up an A7RII for a few projects. I use Sony's LUT, 2_SGamut3CineSLog3_To_LC-709TypeA, for my current work and love it. Since all three of my cameras record in S-Gumut3.Cine, I find color matching all three cameras with this LUT a breeze. I do use S-Log3 on the FS7 while instead using S-Log2 on both the A7SII and the A6300 because those log curves seem to work best for each camera, but so long as the gamut range is S-Gamut3.Cine, then everything works great.
My two beefs with the A7RII is the fact that it doesn't have 120 fps in 1080p and that it doesn't have S-Gamut3.Cine. I think I can live without 120 fps, but the gamut range has me concerned. Will this really be an issue when color matching with my other cameras? Is there a conversion software, like through Catalyst Browse, that will allow you to convert clips in post to that gamut range? If not, do you have another way to get it in range?
I really love Sony's LUT, the 2_SGamut3CineSLog3_To_LC-709TypeA, so I don't want to give that up. I just need to figure out how to cut the A7RII with it, hopefully through an accurate conversion process. Thanks for your help!
