Now we do!

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

No, 'cause I haven't even downloaded it yet. I'm waiting for version 'c' or 'd', just to make sure it's relatively bug-free. He just released 2.0a about a week or so ago, and already he's on 2.0b, so I'm just giving it a little time.

It looks like an absolutely phenomenal application, and Satish is legendary in Vegas circles for making these freeware applications. He's the same guy who made WinMorph, free morphing software for use within Vegas. Apparently this Wax program can be used as a stand-alone application, or as a plug-in for Vegas.

There's much discussion on Sony's forum about it.

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

Tks for the tip! I downloaded anyway and will check it out. As new versions come in Ill overwirte.

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

..it works ok, ive had it since i got winmorph, but i also have AE, and it just doesnt begin to compare. so i dont really use it for anything. however it is nice to be able to use it right in the nle for small stuff

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

iamloser, this is a new version of Wax than the one you probably have (unless of course, you got winmorph within the last week:)).

Version 2 is much improved over the first version.  I have been testing it out since this new version was released.

Yes, it does not compare with AE.  However, it is free, and yet very powerful.  It give many Vegas users the things they have been asking for from Sony for a long time.  Rotoscoping/painting, 3d compositing, etc., and even some things no one even thought to ask for (importing 3d models!? that's just crazy!).

John, all you have to do is run the installer, then it should be selectable as an event FX module.  Be sure the read the readme as there are some settings you have to change to use the plugin.

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

I got it! I had read on the site something about ".net....."

I have had it crash a couple times though >:(

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

From debugmode site:

With Vegas 4 and above the plugin needs to use scripting so please download and install the .NET framework if you havent yet.

What is .NET framework and where do I find it?

BTW I've dead-ended at P6.5 due to Matrox DTV ending hardware driver support. Nice. It's only a pro broadcast subsystem!

My copy of V4d is just waiting to be exploited. Today I saw my NLE destiny on this site. So the DVX is $1000 more than I'd like, it was made to rock with Vegas. And now there's free plug-ins to do just what I need for a short thriller. Sundance awaits me. (And no, I haven't been drinking - just inspired and intoxicated with the possibilities)

I just keep being awed by the DVXUSER site.

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

Thanks Jive,

I thought to google it right after I posted. 23megs?! I'm on dial up with a 4 hour limiter for pete's sake. I guess I'll have to do it in segments over a few nights. Ha.

Re: WAX - the ultimate Vegas plug-in.

Why am I getting visions of the production design of "Brazil"? ???

('coz it's a frickin' brilliant movie, that's why!)
