Wavy video help

New to HMC 40. Video at 1080 24P looks fine on computer. But then when played back on cathode ray tube, everything in the background is crazy wavy.
Any ideas

I think we need way more info than that to diagnose the problem... what shutter speed were you using, and what were you shooting? Were you whip-panning? How are you playing back 1080p/24p on your CRT? Are you going straight out of the camera, or playing back through another device? If out of the camera, what output are you using? Is your CRT old and on its last legs? etc etc etc... post more info, please!

I received a DVD from someone who did some vhs to dvd with very similar video issues, although not as bad. However, the dvd copy has the wavy video now since the person had nothing to correct it with. Can this be fixed using software?

Again, we'd need more info to figure out, diagnose, and fix what this "wavy" issue is.

How was the DVD encoded? What did you use to transfer the VHS to DVD? Did it go through software first, or did you record directly from a VHS deck to a DVD-R deck? etc etc etc

If you want a video problem fixed, provide as much info as possible, or you're not going to get reliable help!
