Waveform Monitor: What should i be looking at?

Hello everyone. I am new to posting here, but have been lurking about this great forum for a while now.

Been using my HMC 40 for quite a while, really like it. But i want to start making the most of it, so i want to start utilizing the WFM more often.

So far, i've used it only to test lighting on a green screen.

What if i want to start using it for pretty much any shot? What are a couple do's and dont's for the WFM? What should i be looking at?

Did you get a USA version of the HMC40, with "The HMC Book" in the box? There's a bit of a tutorial on the WVM in there, which might help.
 
Thanks, i'll check out those threads. I must have gotten my HMC40 before the book started to ship with it. Got it a little less than a year ago.
