Water Color Correction

Hello I am new here and I want advice on color correcting. Please tell me what is best. Does it depend on my taste or are there standards I should follow? I color corrected the ocean in After Effects. I will post more grabs later. Thank you for your help.

Is there too much blue? Does it look to saturated?

cross your eyes

cross your eyes

bring the two images together, try crossing your eyes to do this and you'll see what I think looks like a very nice water color with all the translucency of real surf. Just my opinion.

The ocean can be SO many different colors, it's difficult to say what would be "correct".

To me, the above just looks like Atlantic & Pacific.

It's really going to come down to what kind of "look" you want. (And how much the correction will screw up other things in the picture)

Thank you for your comments. I have no clue where the picture went. I took your advice foosiemacand I blended the pictures together. I agree that it seemed more realistic. My first attempt looked like Blue Powerade water. I like powerade though so I might stick with it. I would post the new image but I don't want to go to the trouble of posting it and it will disappear anyway.

GenJerDan you are right about it depending on what type of look I'm going for. I saw Lords of Dogtown recently and the water was well...can't really quite make out what effect they were going for. Seemed like they wanted a rocker early 80's music video look. It gave it a very weird tone. I like the way Blue Crush looked. I really want the water to look like Hawaii even if it's like the lake down the street.

I would try to post some more images and footage as well but I think it will probably disappear.

Do you know where I can post jpegs and footage without it disapearing?
