Getting my af100 in a couple days and was wondering if any of you guys used this 3rd party battery? Or recommend a brand? Thanks!

used a few different ebay chinese batteries, after a year or two of heavy use they start to cut out whilst still indicating 60mins or so remaining, I only use these for B-Roll and non essential shooting now. they also only give you approx 2 hrs recording time compared to 3 hrs using equivalent panny batts.
got some hahnel branded ones lately that have a better reputation (and slightly higher cost, but still not as pricey as official panny batteries)

I have both the original panasonic batteries and the Swit. The Swits are very good, the Panasonics seem to last a bit longer though. I have also used cheap chinese rubbish too- it's er-- well rubbish, don't do that to your lovely AF100 it doesn't deserve it!
Cheers!

Ditto everything on the Swits. I like them, like the charge display, like the version with the DC power output port, also get slightly less time from them than Panasonics

The thing is SWIT is also a Chinese company, but they are a cut above (actually many cuts above) a typical Chinese battery manufacturer. They have distributors around the world, their engineering is second to none and they stand by their products. If there is a technical issue, they replace the item as needed.

Quite so- and they are not cheap at all! they are well made and I have several and am very happy with them.
I also have several other non video items that were very expensive and made in China- all superb quality. Like all manufacturing industries quality can always be produced at a price, the problem comes when we the consumer want top quality at the lowest price. CHina is very good at producing mediocre quality which may or may not serve the purpose, to meet this demand. (my recent experience with cheap chinese battery chargers was not a good one. They just didn't output the correct voltage- useless and were returned. However a more expensive chinese charger is perfect and still doing a good job.) I think the adage is buy the best you can afford- back on topic now- the SWITS are reliable and well respected.
Cheers!

Unfortunately the only way to ship batteries internationally (out of US) is by Fedex making it very expensive. US Mail does not accept Li-Ion batteries for a while now.
