warranty issue HELP!

I bought my HPX500 for a job abroad, it arrived late on the day I was to leave, I just had time to take it out of the box and get on the plane.

Stupidly I left the details required for the warranty procedure behind with no way of reteiving from where I am. I have emailed Panasonic directly for advice on at least 2 different mail addresses with no response. Now more than a month has passed and I am helpless until I get back in a week or so.

Can anybody advise me on how to deal with this because the consequences of my foolishness could obviously be pretty harsh.

Thanks

Didn't you just say that in your first post? Am I missing somethig here? Jeremey above just told you how to do it. He gave you a direct link to the registration page. All you need to do is enter in your information and they will send you a confirmation email. Forget Panasonic not responding, either you are not reading responses or there is something I am missing. ???????

Yes you are, Jeremy above just told me to do what I explained I cannot do. To get past the first page you need 'the numbers' which I do not have and in the meantime I have missed the 1 month deadline. What I am asking for is not what I already know rather some help with the problem I have! I am posting here in case somebody has either had experience with my situation or is connected with panasonic in a way that isn't just as a punter who has done everything correct themselves, rather they might know another usfull person in that organisation that I can appeal to at least extend the deadline for me given my mistake.

I thought you said you had the camera with you? That is all you need, the serial numbers are on the camera, and you should know when and where you purchased it. That's it to get the process going.

Well, you need to explain that, Oblong. You never said that wouldn't work, you just repeated verbatim a line out of your first post. If it won't let you register it, I would either call the people you purchased it from or try and get a hold of one of the Panasonic regional sales reps. If you call your supplier, they should be able to give you their number or call Panasonic, maybe the support department, and see what you can do.

Yes I do have the camera senior member digitalinnovations sir, but if you remember its not the serial numbers on the camera that you need to register, its the service pack number and the premium pack code (for my region at least) both on a service pack that I am presuming is service packed up in another country and that I am not even sure I received.

As for the supplier sales rep, I bought the camera from a internet dealer in UK and the camera was shipped straight to me from singapore. This dealer has bad comms, the item being delivered a week late in the first place without us being able to contact them (which made me sweat). The only person I had contact with was the courier.

Sooo, everyone up to speed?

No service pack numbers, probably (I don't usually forget things) no sevice pack (I contacted panasonic about reissuing in time but as I said no response) no contact with the supplier and ultimatly no knowledge of where the camera was actually supplied from originally.

Nice huh, it's feels good to be a part of a such an efficient world trading without borders.

Oh I see, Oblong. You expected everyone to just know that.

Well, now that you explain the whole story, I have news for you. You will not be able to register your camera for the extended warranty because you must purchase the camera from an authorized US distributor. When you purchase from authroized US Distributors, your camera does not come from Overseas. You probably have what's considered a "Grey Market" Camera and Panasonic does not provide additional support for those. As far as the service pack, I don't ever remember entering in service pack numbers, just serial numbers.

Soooo... you may be SOL. Good luck.

For anyone out there that has problems with their warranty procedure I was treated very well by Panasonic once I had contact with the right person. In my case it was Shelley Hall PanasonicBroadcast@ipglobalnet.com

As for my USA centric (thats right we do own big boys equipment outside the US) 'Dutch Uncle' Kibitzer buttinsky, (see above) thanks for all your wise words of advice and general well wishing.
