Warning: PSD NG

From what I've gathered it has to do with the gyro for image stabilization, which would make some sense because now I have this wonderful black area that appears at the bottom of the frame (can't see it on a tv)

Is there anything I can do outside of taking it somewhere? If I can get the parts I'll try to fix it myself unless it has to do with focusing and aligning the lenses

I'm not sure if this is the right forum so feel free to move this thread.

I haven't dropped it or slammed it in anyway, however when I first got it the mic had been knocked off like maybe someone had tried to pick it up by it and it snapped off, dropping the camera to the floor (just an assumption). However it has been working correctly for the last 3-4 months and now this. I can deal with it how it is, it's just a little saddening.

The reason you can't see it on a TV is because it cuts away the safe-areas. Does this happen only when your lens is at full wide? It could be the sunshade you know.

Yea... One of the 100P's that i was using had this, it didnt end to great, was a 300 dollar repair i belive.

Temporary Solution...

Temporary Solution...

Yo dude, I recently got a PSD NG warning on my DVC80, and the black bars (vignetting) you see is actually the sunscreen on the camera, taking it off will solve temporary issues. Also, unscrewing the aluminum frame on the front of the sunscreen will eliminate the black vignetting thought you will most likely be able to see a part of the screw mount. Its really tiny though if you choose to add slugs for a widescreen look in an NLE, it will cover it up. Ill post some frame grabs to show you my before and after stuff. Good luck
