The Dell Dell 24" 1920 x 1200 LCD is a real bargain, but PAL users beware!

I am SELLING my new Dell because it cannot refresh at 50 Hz, which is a MUST for all 50i/50p HD video. The motion studder looks awful!

The only 1920 x 1200 LCD I found that is capable of 60 AND 50 Hz is a viewsonic. Is there any other 1920 x 1200 that can both refresh rates?

Oh I didn't now I cant use my Dell 2405 to PAL. I have used it as a monitor for my camera and S-VHS, and have no problem. I should stop use it

Watch your PAL video (panning, zooming, all kind of motion) on a 50 Hz monitor for a change. You"ll be surprised!

My Dell 2405 have PAL 50 Hz, see the instruction, when you use S-Video or Composite

I doubt that. The minimum panel frequency is 56 Hz (Dell's specification), the video input type doesn't matter.

I tried to force the monitor to refresh at 50 Hz (using the software "power strip"), but it failed. Have a closer look at some of your pans. Are they studdering? Maybe SD is not as obvious as HD(V).

what about the apple cinema 23" ? can it refresh at 50 Hz???
Jarred, Barry is it true what is said about the Dell2405 can not refresh at 50 Hz?????

Dell is not the only 1920x1200 monitor that connot refresh at 50 Hz or lower. Like I said before, the only one I found is the viewsonic 23", which even can go down to 24 Hz.

Clarification: I have tested only the computer input (DVI or analog), no other video input. Forcing the Dell with "power strip" to refresh at 50 Hz failed. The motion studdering was the same like in 60 Hz mode. After that I consulted the Dell specification and found vertical frequency 56 to 60 Hz at 1920x1200 via DVI. Darned!
