Hi everybody,

Be careful guys if you try trade on this forum with this guy : "Enlight3ned",

He answered my ad about a dvx100, i sent him 1100$ for a dvx and a letus kit, i m still waiting ... after 2 months.... he kept the money and told me he sent the dvx with no tracking number for international, he has no money (very funny...)... And lost his recip.... Very strange

"hey man , Paypal cancelled your account and gave me back my money, i had 45 days to check , try it with someone else ..."

Be careful now.

bye.

i typically make a rule to not to business with people on the forum who have under about 100 posts.

there is an old saying that "a fool and his money are soon parted"

Just curious, do you guys ask for any references when you buy from someone online? I would never send money if I don't know who am I dealing with.

I don't.
I just look at whether the seller has been a member here for any length of time.
Then I pay by PayPal (not with the gift option), that provides me with a certain amount of protection.

I have had people check me out though.
I always provide my eBay info so they can check my feedback there too.

Thanks for the warning. I consider myself a savvy online shopper, but was duped recently. Not much (a few hundreds), but still a lesson. Thanks to PayPal dispute resolution, got my money back. I agree on trying to verify the seller the best you can. However, sometimes it's not enogh time. Also, there are honest folks that lurked around these forums, but registered fairly recently... like me, for example. It is a good idea to reference some other verifiable reputation sources such as eBay and LinkedIn.
