WARNING - baseplate scam ?

Just a warning to folks thinking about upgrading their 100's baseplate ...

I paid dvxuser -- ulisses@santofilme.com.br -- for a baseplate in early November and still haven't recieved the item. I was assured a handful of times over the past couple of months that it's in the mail and have patiently waited. Granted it's coming from Brazil -- but it shouldn't take this long. (months ?)

Has anyone else experienced a problem with this DVXuser ?

If I'm SOL, at least I can prevent another DVXuser from being scammed. This actually is the first time that a dvxuser completely scammed me- I've had nothing but good experiences buying gear on the 'nets. Lesson learned -- I'm only purchasing items from within the states.

Too bad because it looks like a well-made product and much needed addition to the DVX ...

Hopefully that wont be the case for you.
Regardless, you're doing everyone a service by getting this out.

I ordered one and got it with no problems. The shipping took more time than it would from the US, of course, but it came and worked fine. My guess is that it got lost in the mail. I know some others have bought base plates from him successfully.

Its too bad you havent got it yet. I received mine very promptly and there was a problem with hole placement and he immediately sent a replacement one right away. I was very pleased with his service.

i got mine about 11 days as opposed to the 15 days he said it would take. i love my plate although i have to admit traking the guy just to order it did take awhile but once it was on order everything was smooth i know in nov. he was busy with some shoot thats why he was hard to find cuz i bought mine in late nov. sorry to hear you havent gotten yours.
 
I also received mine fairly quickly. The problem with something being in the mail is that it's in the mail. Wackiness abounds. Hope it shows up, it's a nice piece.
 
For now I'm keeping the faith -- hopefully it'll just show up some day -- dang it !

With all the good experiences everybody else has had -- I just have to keep my fingers crossed and not obsess of things I cannot control -- and keep the good karma up by giving this dude the benefit of the doubt that he'll come though.

Just to give you an idea of how well the USPS works, I won an eBay auction on November 6, and the item was shipped out on November 7 from Culver City, Calif. I'm in San Diego, Calif., and I received the package yesterday.
 
Hallejula! -- the baseplate arrived today! ---

Took awhile (3 mos.) but it was worth the wait -- my DVX will be so much happier now.

I have nothing but good things to say about Ulisses. He sent me my plate and it was originally designed for the 100a so of course on my 100b, it did not fit. He rented a B on his own time and re-cut another base plate and only charged me for shipping. Yes, shipping takes a while, especially from another country, but you'll get it and will be happy, that I can say!
 
Alright. Since it is obvious that there is no, nor has there been any scamming going on with this dude, let's close this one down. People needn't get the wrong idea.
