I haven't seen the film yet, but if you look at the lighting is nearly all of Spielberg's films that are aimed at a younger crowd, you'll notice a lot of it. Hook, AI, and the newest Indiana Jones certainly come to mind. There are a lot of scenes that are overlit and obviously don't use "universal" lighting (one basic setup for a scene that just requires tweaks between shots), along with having unrealistic sets. You can notice it to a lesser extent in Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds, especially in the night scenes. It doesn't really bother me most of the time, and his harder-hitting stories are completely devoid of this. I just call it "Spielberg lighting".
