want to rent HVX 200 for 2 weeks in March/Rental Trade possibility

hi all,
i'm headed to Peru from March 11 to March 26 to shoot a pilot for a new non fiction show. I've owned my hvx 200 for over a year, and my DP will be shooting with this camera primarily. However, i'll need to have another hvx200, so i can grab some Broll as well, and just as a backup to the A cam. THIS is the camera i'm looking to rent. i'd be very surprised if i put more than 10 hours on it.

anyway, i'll be in postprod for almost all of April and most of May, and not needing my camera in that timeframe.

So ideally, you, as an HVX owner operator would be in a similar situation, and could rent me your camera for my shoot, and then i'd return the favor in April/May for your two camera shoot.

if you don't have a need for a rental in April/May, i'd consider just renting your camera from you, but your rate would have to be significantly less than AbbeyHD in LA (approx $1700 for HVX200 and 2 32g cards)

fyi - even though i haven't posted on this board too much (i'm usually at creativecow.net and d-word.com) i'm totally legit, and happy to do whatever necessary for you to feel comfortable with the deal. the alternative is that i just buy a new camera, and then sell it when i'm back in town.

fyi: i'm seattle based, but one member of my crew is flying in and out of LA, so local pickup/delivery can easilly be arranged.

Best case scenario for you... buy a used one which can be had on these forums for $4k for a decent package then sell it when you return. You will lose a maximum of 10% in that amount of time and if you hop on a great deal, you will be able to break even. I have done this several times and have yet to not break even.

There is no way someone other than a close friend is going to let you take their camera out of the country. The liability is just too great and "b" cameras are at a greater risk of theft. Most production insurance would not cover this scenario either.

just bought one on ebay.
it comes with a p2 store that i dont' need. anyone interested in buying a p2 store? barely used at all. comes with portabrace case.
