Want some more frame rates?

Can anyone answer this? What are the EXACT frame rates for all the frame rates the HVX can do (including the hacked ones)? I already put in the know ones from Barry's book.

0 = DEFAULT
1 = 2fps
2 = 3fps
3 = 4fps
4 = 6fps
5 = 8fps
6 = 10fps
7 = 12fps (12.26fps)
8 = 14fps
9 = 16fps
10 = 18fps (17.98fps)

Shooting at 60 fps and then using Apple Motions Optical Flow plug in to increase the effect, you can shoot great minatures. Been experimenting with it and the results are fantastic.
 
Hello All and Barry,

I have your DVDs, book, and even the HVX200 camera. I would like to try the 2fps setting noted above. Can I assume that after I edit a scene file, load back into camera, select it, etc, I can then just start recording? I would plan to record 720/24p(A?) and leave the shutter for approx 1/48, and then perhaps try something at the 350 degree setting.

The sentence above would be the long way to say "now how do I shoot some video?"

You'd use 720/24pN mode. Edit the scene file, load that scene file in, and you should be ready to go. Use a shutter speed of SYNCRO SCAN 180.0d, unless you want to go for the super-streaky look in which case you'd use 350.0d.
 
A higher frame rate is a must for all us stock footage pioneers. its always just a little bit cooler in slow motion

and then a lil slower

Thanks for helping on this. I am reading your book for the second time, and now I will definitely try these interesting setups! So much to do, and so little time. If I did not have your book and the DVDs, boot camp, etc, I would not have a clue how to use the camera other than the Panasonic auto-record function! Not to mention this forum, and the Cow Forum!

at 2 frames and 350, there will be much more light than you ever need.... the camera gets a 1/2 second shutter... thats immense.
 
Ok now that my HVX is here I tried it but Im stuck: does this ONLY work when a P2 card is in its slot?
Since I am waiting for my P2 to arrive, I thought I could do it without but it seems not ?
and would this work with a FS 100 ?

I changed the text file and made me some more settings, copied them back onto the SD card and they do show up but when I try to load them nothing happens, it says " now reading" and then "read ok" but then ????? I reads the new filename which I call FRHACK then I get the option " push menue to return" when I do that it reads again and I am back to Scene1
 
It should be working; look through your scene files and see what your frame rate is set to (make sure you're in 720p mode and that your scene file is set to FILM CAM).
 
have there been any changes to the hack or out dated info that needs to be revised and pasted again? Just curious if the info in this thread is still 100% correct.
 
Does this overwrite your scene files or is it simply importing the scene file from the SD card and leaving the original scene files untouched?

I just bought from US -bay the Panasonic HVX-200, but I live in Europe...

After reading all the pages of this post, I have realised that actually there is no way to record PAL in SD, neither at HD to rec 25p/50i...???! Right??!

Have u found a way all this time...???!!
