Walla for dinner party

Does anyone have any walla for a dinner party, or even some scripted phases that might work? It doesn't have to be anything distinct, but something I can hand to the crew and capture some dinner party chatter to lay down as part of the room sound?

There are a few clips available on www.sounddogs.com when I search for: dinner party

SoundDogs is my #1 go-to source for SFX. I am a paying customer and have no other relationship with this vendor.

If you are filming a scene with people in a restaurant, just create the walla on the set. Have the people in the background act like they are talking when you record your main actors speaking, then record a walla after the fact. It would be the best possible wala because it happens in the actual space.

I recorded the restaurant sounds while it was open and busy. We actually shot our scene after it closed with far less extras than the walla would indicate, so I'm either going to have to re-do the walla, or take my future wife out to small quiet restraurant, and record clandestinely (she'd know, of course). Can I then write off the meal as work related :)?

You could always record multiple takes and mix them together. I just made a walla of a full church using 4 people. We did different takes in different voices. Then I even pitch shifted some of the takes to make varied voices.

I agree both with Richard and Chadfish.

First try to layer multiple takes of your walla and pitchshift them with different variations for a bigger, and thicker effect. Slice and dice them around for less obvious reasons.

Or, sounddogs. Awesome place to find those one or two specific things as a last resort.
