Walk through of FCE please...

Hey,

im getting back into film editing and stuff i did it in highschool using FCP but have not used it for a few years. i have FCE and i want to know in general what is a step by step after capturing my footage into FCE, whats next?

Do i render, then fx, then render again, etc...

I wont really be adding anything maybe some fades and thats it,

Then once im done with my sequence whats the best way to export it for youtube?

Straight cuts, stock fades or dissolves, etc. don't require rendering at all depending on the footage and your computer.

You haven't indicated your hardware, cam, intended sequence settings or whether you'll be working in SD or HD -- all of which is important to answer further.

Hardware: mac g4 powermac dual 1.25, 2 gb ram osx 10.4.11

Cam: sony pdx10, i will be using DVX100 when i get it

All SD and i dont know what sequence setting there are or which would be suited for live concert footage?
