Nope not attached they ride just like a skateboarder, its kinda crazy. That kid in the video is a professional wakeskater, you might catch him on ESPN or ESPN2, he just won 1st in his last comp. in FL.

that clip looked great. That guy was insane! Ive never seen wake "skating" before, that's way cooler than it's "boarding" cousin.

That was cool. Now if he could do some frontside flips over that bar and maybe some backside flips to board slide that would be cool. Nice stuff.

The footage was all natural no color correction no stabilization no nothing. I was shooting at 7pm-10pm, it was all shot hand held on land or with me on the back of a jet ski @ about 20 mph. I used procoders standard MPEG1 compression, looks pretty good to me and it brings down the file size pretty good too.

Not a bad cut. One question? Why isn't genius wearing a helmet and life preserver? Boy is gonna smack into one of those pilings and sink like a brick. Sigh...

I've already stated that the sillhouete shot is breathtaking. The cut is cool. It's one of the few uses of whirl/motion blur transitions that didn't seem tacky. And did you said the images were handheld? Wow, what are you, a Sniper? ;D (Hopefully this joke won't get the FBI after you...::) )

And, well, if the coolest wakeskater doesn't wear protection gear, who am I to tell my nefew to bucle up on the road to the lake... ::)

Anyway, congrats!

Man, that is nice. I have never seen that either. No straps to the board. That is new to me. Nice shooting, very still.

one question, what would have happened if you fell off the jetski with the DVX?

Well I think if Neil hasn't gone completely insane ( ;D ), he probably rented a waterproof housing, witch probably made the stabilization even more difficult.

Haha, No waterproof housing. If I fell off the jetski I would get wet and so would my dvx... I think I have gone completely insane! ;D

i gave my dvx a bath...dropped in a bucket of urine...but i let it air dry and still works like a charm....UHH

Were you filming the urine? Or in a position of not being able to move thus creating a bucket of urine?
