Wait. Matte box, rotating?

How exactly does a matte box mount? Becouse... all my 3 lenses, when I adjust the focus, the 58mm ring in front rotates aswell... I got a small lenshood spinning around atm, but how the heck is a mattebox mounted? Or can they only be used with certain types of, uh, non-rotating focus lenses? *badumtish*

Just wondering because "back in the days "(err, a few days ago...) when I still used DV the box mounted in the front ring, but then it didn't move... theese ones does :crybaby:

You need a set of 15mm rails attached underneath with a plate to the camera and then the mattebox attaches to the rails.

Right, then the focus barrel will just rotate around inside the matte box / donut that usually comes with it.

Get a cheap / broken polarizer, and break out the glass

In what way does it sound hilarious? This is how matte boxes work.
