Voodoo Doll, a short film I've made

¡Hi people! I'm new in here. I'm an amateur filmmaker from Valencia, Spain and I want to be part of this amazing filmmaking community. I expect to learn a lot from you.

It's a treat for me to show you a short film my best friend and I co-directed. It is in spanish with english subtitles. Its name is Voodoo doll. 4:45 minutes long.

Plot: A young man tries to survive in a post-nuclear world, starving and chased by what he calls "the voices"

I hope you like it.

Trivia:
-Filmed in just two afternoons.
-The first sentence, "Lucifer has fallen", is a quote from A canticle for Leibowitz, the sci-fi post-apocaliptic novel by Walter M. Miller jr. In this novel, the code phrase for a nuclear attack was "Lucifer has fallen".

hey i liked it, nicely filmed - some of the audio needs a bit of work to really give it a 'darker' presence with the voices & there was quite a lot of crackling noise - could be the vimeo compression, not sure. But it did give a desperate & lonely feeling which is good. Another slight nitpick - some of the translation is grammatically incorrect & there were a few mispellings with the subtitles, but overall you should be very happy with it for just 2 afternoons of fliming

Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it. You know, the thread had 70 views and no comments, so I thought "wow, is that bad?".
Crackling noise? Yeah, it's not the vimeo compression, I think it is a recording issue. Maybe I could re-record it, but now I'm busy with another short film...
Could you tell me where are the subtitles wrong? I want to correct it and I don't want to miss anything.
What would've you added to the audio? Would you have added some voice distortions or maybe some eerie sounds? I wanted to keep it kind of industrial, without losing the 'sci-fi' feel. I know nothing about audio, I must admit. In my current short film I'm not in charge of the audio.
I'm really glad you liked it. See you soon and thanks for commenting!

Happy to make my first post ever here in dvxuser :D !

I enjoyed watching it. I did feel that loneliness and desperation. I liked the environment it was filmed on... very spooky in its own way.

My wife watched it with me and she said that it was scary :Drogar-Evil(DBG): .

Nice job!

Hahahaha! Thanks a lot! Welcome to DVXuser! I'm new here, too, but I've been reading this forum for so long. Really glad you and your wife liked it!
