Voigtlander 25mm 0.95.. Which retailer to pre order from?

Between the two dedicated Voigtlander dealers in the U.S. which one, if any is better to pre order the Nokton 25mm 0.95 from. About to get on a pre-order list and trying to see which (Photovillage or CameraQuest) would be a quicker delivery. Or is there is another better option out there, that I am unaware of?! Just love the lens, as do most who have it.

i'm waiting on the photovillage list. they said by the end of the month they should have their shipment. i did have to pay in full which i didn't really care for. their website said pre-order and be sure to add yourself to the list to assure you get one. then after signing up, they sent out and email that said they were IN STOCK a few weeks later. that to me meant they were sitting on a shelf in their store, so i jumped on it to pay for one quickly. the bottom of that same email said it was still a pre-order, but i didn't see that in my haste. i called and they said they didn't mean to confuse anyone....but it did say IN STOCK. whether or not it was intentional confusion is another story.

i just wonder if the thing will be glowing from radiation when it gets here.

What would be involved in putting this lens on a Nikon mount? Another Micro4/3-to-Nikon adapter? I'm wondering because I already intend to put a Nikon adapter onto a micro 4/3 mount. And rather than taking off the Nikon adapter every time I wanted to use the Voigtlander, I wonder if I can adapt this one lens to Nikon instead.

I don't think the nikon mount will work in anyway. Personally I've just bought an adapter for each lens and left it on that lens so not to have to switch and gobble up production time. It's a matter of grab it, put it on and be done....

Ah, perhaps a good idea eh. It's just that I'm not sure how easy it is to attach and detach lens mounts onto the AF100. With other cameras, I attached my lens mount and just left it there for life.

Not gonna work. The Voigtlander is meant to be 20mm away from the sensor. Nikon lenses are meant to be... oh, I don't remember, something like 44mm away. A Nikon->m43 adapter works largely by moving the lens far enough away so it will focus properly. With an m43->Nikon adapter, you'd be going about it backwards. Only way to do it would be with a quality-robbing optical element in the adapter.

Don't sweat it, I do it all the time. I have the Voigtlander, and my ZF's are all Nikon mount. Changing the adapter out is no more effort than changing a lens is.

Good to know. Thank you for the info. So, I will get the Adaptimax mount for all my Nikons, and just remove the mount when I want to shoot with the Voigtlander...if I can get my hands on one. Seems they may be selling as fast as they can make the lens.

Listed as "New item - no arrival date known" at B&H for $819. Doesn't look like you can pre-order, but you can put yourself on the email notification list.

If you can't wait, there's a guy in Seoul selling one on eBay for $1450, free shipping.

There is a new shipment coming from Voigtlander to CameraQuest. Unfortunately, Voigtlander was unable
to fulfill the complete order and I got bumped to June :-(

I ordered mine from Photo Village and got an email that it should be here at the end of April. I did have to pay in full in to pre-order but that's the way it goes with such short supply and limited distribution. Cant wait to get!!!!!!!

I'm looking to buy a cheap adaptor off ebay but don't know which one works with the AF100. I'm only going to use this once probably. I"m planning to shoot a short with just the voigtlander and if need be pop on a nikon, just at the behest of my DP. I told him I'm happy moving the camera for a wider shot, and moving in close for a close up. But anyway, help me out. My shoot is in a week.

Oh, I also pre-Ordered from PhotoVillage and called them up on that stupid misdirection they pulled. They held onto my $1099 for a month. You know maybe I wouldn't have been so ready to plonk that down if I was only pre-ordering. Then they made it seem like I was stupid and couldn't read. Clearly the email they sent out said it was in stock. I clicked the link and went straight to it. Rather than apologize for the confusion, intentional or not, they implied I was Stevie Wonder's first cousin. They even went as far as bluffing to give me my money back, whereupon I countered quite politely... ah whatever, it wasn't pleasant. Had I another option, I would have canceled my order. I felt robbed. If you're taking my $1099 for a month, I should at least know about it, and not be tricked into parting with it. There were other retailers taking smaller deposits! Just didn't want to risk my spot in line.

don't get a cheap adaptor or you will have glass on the floor. MFT's nikon adaptor, the novoflex, I purchased from ablecinetech in NYC and it was only $300. Its really well made, and has the iris control built into it so you can use newer lenses or older ones...
