Does anyone know of any free app that types what you say need to type at the speed of thought.

O YEA I HAVE A MAC....
 
I have used those programs myself. And it leads to more headaches than does typing. Plus, work on your typing skills. You typing speed might be just slightly slower than if you actually spoke the words outloud. You never know. And fast typing is an excellent thing to have.

Yes in a way you have a point but this way I can lay back on my bed and relax and let me mind go free.Great ideas come to one person when they are just relaxing and reflecting on such story.
Plus i constantly find myself spell checking the words alot for meaning i only have heard used.
 
I have yet to find a voice-recognition word processor that isn't more trouble than it's worth.

Try tape recording your musings as you lie on your bed. Then transcribe them from the tape.
 
Transcribing is one of the most painful, tedious processes in the world, in my opinion. I just did so with a handwritten song.

It WAS 30 bucks, but it comes with a mic. You can probably find it or a similar program for cheaper online. But, like Matt and David said, sometimes they are more trouble than they're worth. I rarely use it and when I do it often requires corrections that I could have done more efficiently typing (because I have learned to type extremely fast - probably in part due to this site, haha). It all depends on your personal style/preference.
 
some people love voice recognition software, some hate it. The software has improved tremendously over the years, but is unavoidably very dependent on how clearly and consistently you speak - if you're a mumbler then expect some pain. And expect a longer learning curve if you speak in an unusual accent - the software needs to 'learn' the way you speak.
 
Yea I guess your all right in the sense.
I do like the idea of the tape recorder I guess thats good.
In a way thats what makes a movie great.
You put alot of work into it.
