Visual Artillery

Looks really good!
Could you just post a bigger file? You shot this HD, right...?
And tell us more about budget, crew, setups, productiontime aso, please...
One thing I didn´t like: was this a spec-movie to attract investors? Or was it the trailer/teaser for the movie? If so, for me, it was way to long and exposed way to much... It´s a Gore movie, of course, and maybe this were only 10% of your FX shots but with trailers that expose too much I always get the feeling of having seen the film already - no need to sit through the full length anymore...

Holy moly.

You know, I just saw a Gore movie over the weekend, and it had very little of this in it. It was mostly about global warming.

Sorry I should have mentioned this is not a trailer. It is not for GENERAL AUDIENCE CONSUMPTION.

This is a sales package aimed at industry people. Fellow shooters like you guys. You are correct. You watch this and you don't have to see the film. But that's that point. It's purpose is to let a buyer/distributor know what marketable content is in the feature.

Unfortunately they don't watch films for story they watch them for money.

I just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek because of the camera used really. The real trailer will be much shorter and elusive in plot and content.

I can't talk about budget in a public forum. Sorry. PM me if you really need some insight.

I can say the crew was very small. Camera, lighting and grip was a total of 3 people me included.

Two person sound department.

one person make-up.

one script super/wardrobe person.

Set photographer.

One producer do everything go to guy.

One producer do what he felt like doing on any given day guy.

3 week shoot.

3 jtl softlights 500w

3 Fresnal 600w lights

2 flourecent lights. General off the shelf kind.

3 scoop lights. various bulbs.

2 funky Fresnal 2k lights. Rarely used.

2 old school 800w fresnal lights. No stands so a ***** to use. Mostly exterior stuff.

1 plastic streetlight ball "China ball"

5 gallons of blood.

2 four gig P2 cards

P2 store

M2 with 105mm, 50mm, 85mm ( all 1.8) and a crappy 35-105 3.5/4.5 zoom. All Nikkor.

No Mattebox.

Janky follow focus that broke and was never really used. All focus pulled off actual lens.

Doorway dolly.

15 feet of track.

Dell 24" HD monitor attached to camera at all times.

Thanks all.

Blown away. Looks absolutely 100% professional. I want to see more. Tell me how i can buy or watch this movie. Congratulations. The gore genre is hard to pull off and it looks like you did. Wow.

Looks great but you are undercuting yourself in the begining. The rest of the stuff looks good and has some "meat " to it but the begining is a bit "lame" -- bad acted "are you breaking up with me?" That line alone undercuts your visually professional results and brings back the "cheapness" on low budget production. Visually really strong piece though.

I would have to agree... visually, its pretty darn impressive (especially the timelapse on the street corner) but there were some lines in there that kind of scream cliche... on the flip side, there are some lines that are great (the labotomy line, makes no f**kin sense)

I think the film "teeter-totters" back and forth between really impressive and cliche but hell, it is a skin/gore flick after all..... good job and good luck with the film

to be fair to the actors. Some of the lines are supposed to be lame. It will make more sense in the feature. The stuff is stylized. The film doesn't take itself too serious. If I pull it off it should be pretty cool. If I fail to get the tone right it will be shiite. But I wanted to take some chances with the premise, besides if all else fails the gore will sell it anyway. It's all about taking risks I suppose. I have a subversive angle whether or not I bring it to the surface... well see.

I know one thing....I don't think Panasonic will use any of that footage for demo reels!! Ha Ha Ha.
You are in Dallas right?? Who says Texans can't make films with emotion??!!

It looks fantastic --- sure shows what the M2 can do. Gore is not really my bag (baby), but the footage looks fantastic. Great job!

Nice one!

As to the footage. it does look really good. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate it. I also agree that a few of the lines in the trailer didn't work as well as others.

Nice work. And great compression too! Under 40 mb and it looked pretty damn good! What did you use?

Alex

awwwww grosss and i just ate dinner ! ...

but very nice work . Though i must admit when it comes to the living ..mutilation scenes i can't watch im all about the zombies dying ..well dying again .. but yea very pro looking i like it a lot .. even though i may vomit and have nightmares after i watch it and never touch or go near pointed objects again . really nice images . i can't wait to try out the m2 with our hvx when it gets here in a few more weeks .

you have made me more thankful for all of my intact body parts ..

Hey take a look at the shot, where the woman pulls her own tooth out and looks at it. (the one that plays twice) She looks just like minnie driver. A bloody minnie driver. Anyone else see it?

Good job guys. Smart not to talk about budget, in fact you should try not to at all. Let other people tell you what they think it was shot for.

Is there a whole film or are you trying to raise money? peace.
