Visible Timecode recording onto MiniDV

I'm shooting with a client this afternoon who wants to walk away with the miniDV tape after we are done shooting an interview. Although, they want the timecode to be burned onto the tape and viewable at all times. I know this will probably be un-removable, but they are ok with that, its for an informal interview that they are going to later critique by referencing the timecode. How do I allow my DVX100A to record a stamp of the timecode while shooting without using any post? I know the timecode is visible in the viewfinder, but I need to record it onto the tape...

Quick ideas or replies would be greatly appreciated

Can't be done in camera. The TC is present in the subcode, but won't be visible. You would have to import this into a NLE to accomplish this.

A work around would be to take the DVX output (composite or Y-C video) to another camera and record that stream so that you can put TC on screen (and hence on the analog video output) to record to the second camera / deck.

I don't have access to another camera or deck. If I ask the client if I can run back to my studio to quickly add in the timecode in post, what is the menu option in Final Cut that allows you to add visible timecode? I could then just print back onto tape or burn a DVD. Any other thoughts?

Any deck or camera that they play the tape in will be able to display timecode too; if they're planning on walking away with the tape, surely they have a deck or camera to play it in, yes? Shouldn't be a problem.

You could even use a VCR to make a VHS tape that they can walk with. As far as you FCP question, I am not a FCP user, so I can't help you there.
