Vinten Vision Tripod with fluid head what's it worth?

I picked up a vinten vision 20 tripod. It does not have the spreader. Decent shape. The fluid head is very smooth. I am thinking about putting it on eBay and not sure what to price it at? It's not perfect but still pretty nice. I have pictures. Thanks Frank5163 502 541 9963

I'm a big fan of Vinten heads, the legs need to be replaced, they always seem to fall apart on me, but that's pretty inexpensive.

All of my heads are Vinten(3x 100's and 1x 10LF). I switched to Sachtler Speedlocks for legs after I had the CF legs with my original 10 literally fall apart on a shoot years ago(almost put my 6-8 month old VariCam nose down into the concrete). The Fibertec legs are the only CF legs Vinten has had that were really awesome. Vinten actually tried to buy them BACK from a friend of mine that has a set and he refused. He still uses them today and loves them. But anyway… The 20 is the forerunner of the current 250, which is a pretty heavy duty head. If it is still smooth and the brakes are good, you may want to hang onto it. Does it have the dual 100/150mm ball?

If it has the metal legs, they hold up better than their old CF legs. The Old leg locks(I don't remember their name for them) that were supposedly designed to never over-tighten did just that and would make it a nightmare to extend and retract the leg sections and actually ended up cracking some of the CF tubes on mine. Then the epoxy let go on the mid-level spreader and that's what caused me to almost lose my cam. They have since done away with that lock design too, and only have the Pozi-Lock on their "ENG" legs.

I found a Vinten Fibertec set of legs + Vinten 100 head a couple of years ago, with a bag for $1500.
I bought them for the legs and discovered what a great head that is.
I own an Oconnor and a couple of Sachtler heads, but I find myself using the Vinten one far more often.
Pretty special.

The lesser Vinten heads are more conventional, but the 100 and 250 are outstanding.

What a steal! That set-up would have easily been over $7K new.

I think Vinten are overlooked/underrated heads for ENG type work even though their studio/OB heads are the de-facto standard for studio cameras and remote/sports/build-ups.

BTW: Torque Safe was the name of the leg clamps I was trying to think of on my earlier post.
