Beware of Vimeo they are thieves,if you pay for a years Vimeo plus you get 260GB of space which can allow many films,but if you stop Vimeo plus membership only 26GB worth of films stay the rest are removed.Theft in my opinion.

Uhhh...well more like simple DELETION really. It's not like they take your video and sell it to someone else! Right?

But I can see that it would piss you off if you didn't see it coming.

How much advance warning did they give you when your paid subscription was running out?
 
I'm confused. You are paying to rent space on Vimeo's servers. When you stop paying, did you expect to continue to keep the space you rented?

If you rent a mini-warehouse and store a bunch of stuff in it, then stop paying, what happens? They get rid of your stuff and rent the space to someone else.
 
Well i am not confused, so vimeo is like warehouse ,if you stop paying for Vimeo plus obviously you lose the 5 GB a weak to upload but losing nearly all of them from being displayed if you stop paying just seems simply wrong IMO.Basic free 500mb films stay indefinately so why is that.

So if Vimeo is like a warehouse......if you had stuff stored in a warehouse and you stopped paying the monthly fee for that warehouse, do you expect them to continue to keep your stuff in that warehouse and let you access it, as long as you didn't bring any more stuff there?

I just don't see what's so unfair about this.

This is from Vimeo's FAQs:

What happens if I go over my storage limit?

Should you hit your storage limit, you can upgrade to Vimeo Plus, Vimeo PRO or PRO Unlimited. Members of these plans get tons more storage than Basic Vimeo members.

Okay -- so Plus members get MORE STORAGE SPACE than Basic members. It's not just that the amount you can upload changes, but also that the amount you STORE there changes.

You only have so much space. Not upload limits, but storage space. You stop paying for extra space, you lose it. I don't know why this would surprise you.
 
It does but but with Youtube having fair quality 4K Playback and unlimited storage its best to forget Vimeo .
