Hi, to all the D7000 users. It seems there are not many D7000 users as there are Cannon and Panasonic. I have had a DVX100a for the last six years, I purchased a D90 two years ago and I am new to the D7000. I found this night time video footage of the D7000. It looks very nice for a low light video. Looks very promising to me. What are your thoughts?

Hey....I'm not a D7000 user yet, but I did watch this all. Here's some perspective. I was D90 owner....and I have this lens. The 18-105 is NOT a good lens for low light....in fact.....it's TERRIBLE. So, remember to factor that in when you watch this footage. I'd like to see it in low-light with a "proper" low light lens. AT LEAST, an F1.8....preferably a F1.4....this would be a better tell.

Also...you'll notice that this camera has NOT been updated, or it didn't work, because it has hot pixels. You'll see them at ISO3200 on the center-left. 2 or more...very easy to see. (Just note that...)

I know that for low light photography, this camera SLAYS....not so sure yet about the video mode. I'd like to see the GH2 shoot side by side with the D7000 at ISO3200/6400. I'm not SURE....but it looks like the GH2 is cleaner. (That's a shame seeing as the heritage of the D7000...D3s....should put this head and shoulders above, all the way to ISO25600....but that's NOT the case with the D7000...darn!) Still I'd like to see that side by side for sure!

Thanks for posting this video....many of us are watching tenatively to see what the D7000 brings to the table. (Still shooting our other cameras meantime.....)

You make some great points. I agree the kit lens is not the best in low light. I feel this shows the cameras strengths instead of the lens.
