villians you love to hate

It's not a movie, but in Clive Barker's The Great & Secret Show (one of my personal favorite books of all time) The Jaff.

By far the most incredible, interesting, and deep character ever written.

Die Hard

Hans Gruber

What a performance by Alan Rickman

Hans Gruber: I wanted this to be professional. Efficient, adroit, cooperative, not a lot to ask. Alas, your Mr. Takagi did not see it that way, so he won't be joining us for the rest of his life.
oh yeah

Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus in Gladiator ("They tell me your son... squealed like a girl when they nailed him to the cross. And your wife... moaned like a whore when they ravaged her again and again... and again")

Jack Nicholson as the Joker/Jack Napier in Batman.

Ving Rhames as Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction.

Stephen Dorff as Deacon Frost in Blade.

Ian McKellen as Kurt Dussander in Apt Pupil.

Tom Cruise as Vincent in Collateral.

Christopher Lee as Saruman in The LotR Trilogy.
