Vignetting only in viewfinder

Greetings!

I just bought a 5Dmkii, everything is great except for one problem... We are getting massive vignetting in the viewfinder. The problem does NOT affect live view and all photos taken do NOT have vignetting. All glass is L series full frame and I must stress that there is no vignetting on the actual photos or live view... JUST on the viewfinder.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Love this forum!

I can only assume that it's something really simple like a mechanical obstruction in the viewfinder. You probably tried it without the eyecup but do you see this with the camera powered off?

Is the 5D2 new? If so take it back.

Yes, same result with the camera off. Took it to a local camera shop and apparently it had no focusing screen. I'm torn between getting it repaired and taking it back to the guy I bought it from and just asking for a refund. Its a quick fix and the camera was in mint condition. I hooked it up to the eos utility and the camera had 24 shutter actuations, all by me. How would this happen? Seems unlikely that it would ship from Canon without a focusing screen.
