Viewing FS700 folder and files

Hi,

Sounds like a obvious question, but is anybody using a more flexible programme/option for viewing the camera files on your computer?
Opening the private folder in quicktime (MAC 10.8.3) - is very limiting in terms of if you close a file it closes the private folder and you have to reopen the 'open clip' file once more. It's difficult to view more than one at a time. Is there a more elegant solution I'm missing?

Thanks.

Content Browser (on or off card), Adobe Bridge (footage needs to be outside of its PRIVATE folder on your HDD already), or iPhoto (iPhoto being very slow however).

If i'm cutting in Premiere i'll just import the clips and have a look at the camera file that way - also works if i'm not cutting the project and just want a fast-ish way to look at the files.

If i'm cutting in FCP7 i'll go into Bridge and do a batch rename to something better that 0000.mts (date, project name, clip 01 etc) then transcode all AVCHD into prores in clipwrap. Once they are done i can easily view the camera files in finder by pressing the space button.

So basically the workflow that works for me is:

Off camera card to HD > Backup onto secondary HD > Into Bridge and rename the files to a better name > import into Premiere / Transcode to FCP.
