Viewing footage on a computer while using P2

Do I need a special software to see my footage via a firewire while i'm filming on P2 cards?

Didn't seem to be able to see 1080 or 720p with premiere using the "P2" setting. It is only working with 480 footage via the "Tape" setting.

I think, I remember it was not possible a while ago... but things have change since CS3.

Any help?
 
as far as i know dvcproHD doesnt not live preview over firewire. youre going to need extra hardware like and aja, blackmagic, motu, or matrox box
 
DVCPRO-HD definitely does do live preview from firewire. Use OnLocation to monitor the incoming firewire data stream.

Be aware that if you're using 720pN mode, the camera's firewire port becomes disabled.
