Viewing AVCCAM footage after copy

I'm perplexed as to why I cant view my AF100 footage in Panasonics AVCCAM Viewer software after I copy to a Hard Drive. If I have the SD card in the Mac the AVCAM Viewer software see's it right away, so I copy the Private folder to the drive, and all subsequent folders are not messed with, but the software does not recognize or see a path to it. I must have missed something. Thanks in advance.

AVCCAM Viewer can only see cards that it's copied, because it does change things as it copies (it changes all the MTS files to M2TS, for example).

OK. Tried using the software to copy and forget about it. Just a junkie piece of work this thing. There's one cryptic way to do it and every other move is a dead end. I'm done and I'll just do it the old fashion way, by Log & Transfer in FCP.
