Viewfinder Question

This seems like a no brainer, but how do you get the viewfinder to work??? I just got my camera today, I charged up the battery turned it on and I can only see through the LCD. I've read the manual and no where on there did I see an off and on button for the viewfinder. Am I missing something? Sorry to waste your time if this is a dumb question, but I'm sort of perplexed.

Close the LCD.

I believe it defaults to letting you only have either or on and one time. You can change this in the menu in other functions I believe.

There is a switch that lets you have both operating at the same time... through one of the software switches if I recall correctly.

Also if you turn the LCD around for self shooting, the viewfinder tuns on, however you lose almost all of the displays except for battery and the red record dot.
