GH2 ViewFinder image blacks out

Fly-catchers

I was using my fairly new GH2 in my greenhouse today doing some filming. I was using HBR 25p not hacked 1.1. And using my 25mm F0.95 lens. After some filming the viewfinder blacked out for a few moments while I was focusing with the MF Assist. I was not filming. The image in the viewfinder came back for a few seconds and them blacked out again. This happened several times. I switched the camera off and went back indoors. After a while I resumed filming and it was ok. The instruction manual does go on about static electricity or electromagnetic waves (!) can cause a brief blacking out of the screen. But can't think of anything in the greenhouse that could cause that- no electricity etc. The only two things I can think are either heat as the greenhouse was 80f or battery power. The recordings were done with the single marker showing on battery life. Any ideas?

cheers

There is a proximity censor on the right hand side of the viewfinder (the black rectangle on the right) when you pass your hand in front of it, it switches the screens.
Look in the menu to deactivate it.

Think about your position when the blackout occurred: occasionally while manually focusing, I find I inadvertently press the lens release button in part-way. Any pressure on that button will cut out your camera imaging.

I have recently run into this too, and I have the sensor turned off. I don't know what's causing it and can't replicate it. It's just random.

I second this...happened to me a couple of times as well.
