Hi guys
i heard from some photographers that using dslr cameras for the video records will make the camera 's (shutter) age comes down.
and in will damage as soon as you think!
is it true?!

when shooting video, there's no phisical shutter activation, only the digital one is used (thus the rolling shutter artifacts)
nothing to worry about
as sbrenner said, timelapse is a whole different issue

The mirror is up for as long as you are shooting, so there is an increased possibility of dust, especially from the back of the lens, making its way onto the sensor. I've never had to clean a DSLR sensor as often as I've had to with my D800. That's the only "issue" I've encountered.

I think your friends are talking about the one shutter actuation that occurs when you put the camera into liveview mode, which is necessary for video.
