I need a video website or a blog that handles HD video really well for my video business. Which ones are the best for HD Video highlight Montages? Thanks guys!

Not trying to tute my flute here of course... but if you want to see my little portfolio site (link is in my signature) I just have web hosting of I think 10gb.. super small amount of space. Then I pay 5 bucks a month for vimeo PLUS so I can embedd HD videos. Vimeo seems to have the best player on the internet.

The Vimeo HD I have seen has always looked very nice. Could I set the same kind of thing up on a blog?

I know a lot of people use Wordpress.. and by a lot I mean the majority of the corporate online world. I'm sure you can figure something out with that.

FYI I believe Vimeo's terms of service say they don't want you to use them primarily as a video hosting service for your website. Perhaps the plus plan is a little different or I misinterpreted. I know plenty of people do it anyway, but if this is for a large scale you better scan through their agreements.

I just embedd youtube and vimeo stuff here. So if u get vimeo plus u can embedd unlimited HD videos. As Allen says though...i guess u should see the agreements to vimeo plus.

edit: i have some HD vimeo vids there...but when i click the hd botton it tells me i have to watch it in HD on vimeo. I duno if it would be the same for vimeo plus.

Plus members can embed HD video onto whatever website by just coping and pasting the embed code. You get much more customization and functions (like removing the vimeo tag) when you are a plus member.

They do say you are not suppose to upload video for commercial use... They also only give you 25,000 plays on all your embedded videos. You can buy more if needed.

check out the main page on http://cflbars.com I have a customized tag-less HD video embedded.

Another option would be to host the video files yourself.

There are many free flv players out there and a lot of them are very customizable. It's also not that hard to make your own player if need be.

There are plenty of web hosting out there that offers "unlimited" space. Ofcourse this technically isn't true and they all have a fair useage policy but they offer great value.

One webhost i can reccomend is Streamline.net. they have a very high uptime and they are fast so perfect for HD video.

I don't like how most blogs don't resize to fit HD video. Notice how that blogspot videos overlap the menu on the right. I use wordpress for mine but had to go with a wide theme. There is one really slick HD video style wordpress theme out there from StudioPress called "Tubular".

Check it out..

This could be a very tricky situation. You will have to get your compression perfect as far as quality vs file size. Most HD video takes a WHILE to load for the user, something vimeo does a very good job of managing for you.

Also youtube and vimeo are free to start, worth a try...

Yes, Starting with something like Vimeo and Youtube would probably help.

If you do decide to try it, try using H.264 compression. This normally gives quite a small file and yields a very high picture quality.
