Hi all,
I'm just finished a trailer for my new short that'll be out in a few months. It was shot in .mov format and I rendered it in .mov format too (some of you my think that .mov format isn't the best option for this so I'm open to suggestions).

Anyhow, when I playback the project on the timeline in Vegas, it looks fine. However, when I uploaded it to Youtube, during playback, I noticed that, very slightly, the audio seems to be a split second out of sync. Any reason why this could be?

I'm guessing there are no takers for this question then? If I can't get an answer here, could anyone suggest another forum relating to Sony Vegas where I will get an answer because I really could do with help on this? Thanks

Many factors here to consider. First, YouTube is streaming video which doesn't have much of a track record of playing cleanly in the first place. You don't mention whether the exported .mov file looks OK. Further, .mov is not very precise information; that just means it's a QuickTime container, but the codec and data rates, etc, could be anything.

I recently uploaded a video that i rendered to h264 it ends up with the .mp4 extention. Anyway during upload youtube showed a link that said this type of file could end up out of sync because of the codec. The link shows some alternative routes. My video did not end up out of sync and it was 12 min long. Quite possibly that link may show info as to why your .mov ends up out of sync. But my guess is that its a youtube issue so you may want to choose a different codec and try that.
