Flicks By Chics
I've been doing some test footage of what I think could be some of the more difficults shoots in the upcoming doc I'll be doing. This is close to home...out my backdoor in my own woodshop. This is my friend doing some woodturning. My shop is really small and full of equipment so a tripod is out of the question. I did this test today, all handheld at 1/500 wide open so I could see the chips flying but what is most noticable in the side shots is that the high speed lathe appears to be barely moving and I think this is a resulf of using a fast shutter speed....hmmmmm....what to do. Anyway I'm open to all suggestions, technical and creatively. The end product of this particular segment will only be about 5 minutes including a chat with Lea (the woodturner) about her art.
