Video Split Scenrio

Hey Everyone, Can anyone see any problems or offer improvements to this,

HPX500 using FW for the split, Have to put a Datavideo VP-314 DV Repeater
http://www.globalmediapro.com/do/product/987 somewhere maybe on the camera, 20m FW Lead, into onlocation laptop with a 23' Apple Cinema Display Attached

Im just wonder how ill pover the Repeater what type of plug do a need to use the 12v supply on the HPX500 and If im using the BT-LH80W will i need to split the power plug ?

Or can i power the reapter from the laptop end

I found I had some issues getting the distance I expected from FW with the HVX200. I've never tried it with the HPX500.

Since the repeaters are bus-powered, you should be able to run them without external power if your laptop supports it. You could build your own 12v power supply with 8 AA batteries and a cage and connector from Radio Shack, if you were in a pinch.

this repeater powered by and external socket too so i can power it using the 12 tap on the HPX500 but im just hoping it might work at the laptop end cause then i can just use the inverted power
