Video Output from HVX200A

I am new to the HVX200 and need to know if it is capable of providing a live video output
while recording.

Yes, there are many ways to do it -- through composite, through s-video, through component, through firewire.

This is a toughie. If you're like me—very frugal—you won't want to spend on an external monitor. Personally, I don't really think it's necessary. I've shot 2 features without one. At the same time though, I would in the future like to purchase one. I used this ONCE, and it was very nice. Give it a whirl if you deem the purchase necessary.

Disagree. The LCD on the HVX is very low resolution by today's standard. Using a good monitor for critical work is a must. Also the monitor linked is HDMI only so it won't work with the HVX. Need one with component. SmallHD makes some nice stuff as well.
