Video Not Playing

Hey guys,
I'm new to Avid and have Epress DV 4.6. Been editing a project for a while. Closed and reopened it and have had no problems until now. Opened it up and the video on the composer won't play. On the left monitor it shows a frame and I can slide the bar left or right and it will move. But if I try to play it, it will just show one frame. And the video on the right monitor is just a black screen and it won't even play. Can someone tell me what's going on? Thanks in advance.

I have had this problem myself with XPress Pro HD, am currently using 5.2. This is usually a video driver problem. What card do you use? Did you upgrade the video card and then the problem happened?

Avid is very picky about the hardware it plays well with.

No video card upgrade. In fact, I went to one of my other projects and everything played just fine. It's only on the one project. Seems like there's a setting in the actual project itself although I have no idea what it could be.

Make sure your monitors are not being covered by any other windows or offset on your CRT screen.

Any obstruction of the source/record monitors will not allow your video to play and freeze on a single frame.
 
Also if you have any other video players open such as wmp or quicktime it will have problems playing the video in the moniter. just make sure you dont have some video that played on the web. if so just close it. it should work after that. oh this is for if the audio plays but the video just plays one frame.
