Video: iPhone smashed with hammer

someone needs to make a fake commercial with the famous 1984 ad. at the end the woman throws the sledgehammer through the screen of an iphone.

All I could think watching that one was, "uhhh...how could you have enough money to want to break that thing!?"

It's not their money. There's probably some website out there called breakaniphone.com or something like that where people with no life donates money to see an iPhone gets broken. What a waste.

Honestly the thing that annoys me more then anything in these videos is how sh*tty they always look... and the kids seem like total douches. I expect if the cam pans up that they'll look like those gotti-hotti douche kids in their sunday clothes. I mean, there's ZERO effort in these things... it's not even gratifying to watch... on ANY level. It's a waste of tape and a waste of money. The antithesis of this would be the fax-killing scene in Office Space... THAT is how you destroy a piece of equipment for the camera.

Honestly... if you're going to do something stupid like that for the shock value... then turn it on and have it in a PRESS or something with a fairly tight shot on the thing... and I'd even light the BG or have a subtle spot on the machine... but from behind so that the screen was fully vibrant in supplying it's own light... then once it pops I'd flip a front key so that you see the rest of the thing crushing down. Instead you have some punk cracking the thing open in the shadows on his mom's front porch. It's so stupid on SO many levels... which is why I say "douche".

Retards.....That's the first thing I thought when I saw it. Sorry, as this may offend some people on this thread but Americans still scare me.
Retards?
From a creativity standpoint there's certainly nothing there. The video sucks. It even looks stupid. On the other hand, they obviously recognize what consumer hype is (in spite of their young age) and are either making a point or just trying to get attention. Does that qualify them as retarded?
Now, if the video showed them standing in line overnight waiting or camping out to buy an iphone, would that reassure you in your opinion of Americans rather than scare you? Would that qualify them as sane?
I'm not offended in the least here. Just dont understand the intollerance for people (in this case kids) not following the herd. It is what it is. For someone to characterize a nationality on that basis is a bit of an over-reaction if not completely short sighted.
Sorry if this offends some people.

that's probably the most offensive thing said or shown in this thread, not saying that I've never ever used the word in the same context ... but if you want to get technical about being offensive.

to quote the most "retarded" American (to use your vernacular) "mission accomplished"

Wanna talk about scary? How can Brits have such great health care and such truly horrifying, trauma inducing, burn-your-retinas teeth

This iPhone smashing video looks like little more than someone's attempt to bring more anger and frustration into the world. There's no good reason for it -- much like the PS3-smashing bozos.

... and by the way this thread has played out, and the dozens of arguing posts that have been deleted, it looks like they've succeeded.Congrats, iphone-smashers, on making the world an uglier and more contentious place. Hope you're happy.
