I'm trying to use 'M'... not the creative movie 'M', but the pure manual mode so I can adjust aperture and shutter manually, but the ISO keeps saying AUTO. how do I fix this? If i use creative M then ISO will stay at what I set it to, but I cant adjust aperture.

You should be able to set everything in creative movie mode as long as your exposure setting is on M. If you have it set to say (S)hutter speed then you wont be able to change aperture.

Your ISO problem maybe an issue with something being left on auto in your settings. As to what it is i am not too sure as it has never appeared on my camera.

You need to set Exposure mode for creative movie mode to M in the menu.

Personally I can't follow what you mean by that - "not the creative movie 'M' " - the only other "M" is still photo mode. But in that mode, if you shoot movies using the button on the back, you're in full auto as far as movies are concerned, not manual. Manual control of video settings is ONLY available in Creative Movie mode.

awsome.... thank you guys! not if only i can figure the 3200 iso hack out.

It's not really a "hack"...you just crank up the exposure using the exposure compensation wheel. That's what it's there for.

Personally, even as a wedding videographer, I'd rather have no image than the image cranked up to 3200 for video on the GH1. I guess that's why it kinda limits you to 1600 in the menu.

Good luck!
