Video Game footage/FX getting too real!!!!

I edited a trailer for Hitman 2 many years ago, and remember having serious moral qualms about the game and my work on it. In the end I figured the trailer would get made anyway so I might as be the one to get paid for it, but I remember that feeling. Now many years later, I'm not sure anyone but the most reality impaired take these simulations as reflecting reality, no matter how detailed. You're still sitting safely on a couch somewhere. Perhaps once we get into fully immersive virtual reality, a line will be crossed that will need to be debated.

Timothy Olyphant was creepy as hell in that live action Hit Man movie from a few years back.

I have been playing the Battlefield franchise since 1942 was released. This one looks to be the best one yet.

The realism doesn't bother one bit. Looks fantastic.

can't effin wait.

I don't know about you, but whenever that frog almost makes it to the other side.......... that's livin' on the edge.

Last night, there was a quirky alignment of the stars, coupled with talking to friend serving overseas. For some reason, that VG footie rattled me. I am good with it now.

Ehh, go figure.

I can't imagine experiencing combat Doc. As much as I love the games and films and paintball weekend warrior shite et al ....... the idea of being immersed in that reality scares me. I tell my son always, games and movies are not real. You NEVER want to experience the real thing. I've been in some gnarly life / death / scary as hell situations in my life (Had a .357 put to my head once, been pulled over by SDPD with about 30 guns pointed at me) that was fun, been in some gnarly storms at sea, flipped a jeep 6 times, fights and brawls ..... Had my hand crushed by a 600 LB door last year (THAT SUCKED) .... but nothing compares to the thought of being involved in a firefight with your life on the line.

On a liner note, I always thought of being a combat photographer when I was younger re: joining the service.

I have a lot of friends who are ex Marine and Airborne dudes. I've heard the horror stories.

J.R., it does make for interesting dreams/nightmares. I still hate fireworks. But only the ones I don't know are coming.
