VIDEO - F35 with Odyssey 7Q Rig Walkthrough and Demo...

Amazing! Thanks! It was a bit unclear in the end whether it's the perfect tripod for the Red Epic or the F35 - care to elaborate? :)

The Focus HD head is perfect for both Epic and the F35, sorry if that wasnt clear. I made that video between trips very quickly and wasnt all that on the ball :)

My combination of the Focus head with the carbon manfrotto sticks was made a few months ago when my larger heads were just too much to travel with - i needed to drop around 10-15lbs in weight to make the combination travel friendly and the Focus HD can take 26lbs in weight and is super light weight.

Not sure what aliasing issues you are refering to macgregor, but fill me in and i will let you know. I havent had any issues along those lines with my F35/7Q setup....

Oh, and for those interested, the F35 passing through the 7Q will not allow you to use things like the Zacuto EVF from the HDMI out on the Odyssey.

I know that the Zacuto unit will only pick up certain HD streams, and it seems that for now the 7Q is not compatible.

OK so to follow up with the first video, here is a basic video on working with the .DPX files in post....

and here is the reference video, yes it is over exposed here and there. As i mentioned in the above video, it was edited and graded on a plane, on a macbook air :)

What sticks are those? You mentioned they were Manfrotto carbon fiber, but they look different than the ones I've seen before.

In addition to the 7Q, i wanted to share the new PortaBrace cover/sunshade/weather shield for the 7Q.

With velcro seams all around the unit, you can access any side you want on the 7Q. The all black material means that you get a dark area inside the sunshade area, making your screen pop that much more. Flaps at the front and the back allow full access to the whole front and back of the unit, allowing mounting options to stay the same.

The velcro bottom seam is a personal favorite of mine, hiding away cable connections well, and addend a huge amount of protection for the exposed ports that aren't being used. I know that there are some sun shades coming out soon for the 7Q, but if you want a proper amount of protection for your unit, with a build in sunshade, made by a reputable company, go get one of these!!!!

Just wondering, I see you selected S60P framerate, and the 7Q recognised the signal.

Now does it record 60P? I thought the F35 could only do 50P max? I thought the "S" frame rates were for "ramping" only?
Someone?

Here: BTW, the quality of the Odyssey monitor was really nice in terms of brightness and use (much better than the Gemini) but the image re-scaling (I presume from 1080p to 720p) was really ugly, lots of aliasing. I didn't have more than 2 minutes with it but I couldn't find a setting to fix this. Maybe Mitch could help us here.
I didn't record anything with the unit. Actually I did record something but I didn't bother to open the files. No time.

Sorry for not getting back to questions until now, been a busy week!

Yes it is 60p using the Dual imout into the 7Q. When i import the .DPX files into premiere, they import at the 59.97 rate.

Macgregor - i havent come across any issues with the rescaling, were you using dual inputs into the unit or was your output coming from the monitor ports on the side of the camera? My understanding is that the ports on the side are a compressed format compated to the IF box output.
