Video delay on LCD and hdmi

Anybody else have this problem? There is a noticeable delay on external hdmi monitors AND even on the LCD. Is there like a setting I'm missing that keeps things synced??

Are you saying the monitors are not real time visual with the subject/performance?
 
Yeah like if I clap, the action is delayed. Even on the on board LCD screen. That can't be normal, right.
 
i have noticed a delay when I have the smallhd monitor hooked to the camera via hdmi. I don't see a delay in the onboard LCD.
 
It's harder to notice the delay on the smaller screen but it's definitely there. I tried on an hdmi tv and it was very noticeable, then on a 7" hdmi monitor and it was as bad just harder to tell, and then looked on my onboard LCD. It's definitely delayed on that too.

Perhaps you could double check yours?
 
No delay on my LCD.

I just ran a test using a clapper board. Delay would have been apparent because of visual and audio reference


Never seen it before either so I ran a test just for you.
 
Hmm... I wonder what's wrong with my camera. Thank you sir for testing yours out. Do you notice if you have delay on an external minitor at all?

I hope this is something I can resolve.

My moniotr is SDI and I did not test with that connected.

We have shot a lot of footage with the camera (and monitor) and never seen any video delay anywhere.

I would have been the first to complain.
 
Yeah, i've tried mine with both a 7-inch HDMI screen & my 42-inch TV & neither had any lag. Not enough for me to notice anyway. The onboard definitely doesn't either.

And i'm also so quite fussy.
 
I have noticed this too. I was running a hdmi wireless transmitter so I assumed it was that. But the onboard hdmi monitor had a delay as well. Weird.
 
I find the audio delay a pain. I do a lot of interview work on my own and like to monitor while I work and find the "echo" effect of the delay really off putting.
 
I have a lag on both of my Af100's when I run HDMI out to an onboard monitor (SmalHD DP6's) and / or to TVLogic 17" director monitors. Both Cams and two sets of monitors… It's there.

I called Panasonic. They said, "Um... Well 24p sometimes will do that because it's 6 frames less then usual."

Pretty smart guy. I will be calling back to see if I can talk to somebody else.
