Hi all,
So, I've been shooting DVCPRO-HD 720p/24pn on an HVX for well over a year now, offloading to a p2 store and then capturing into FCP 5.1.4. Just recently I have been having a lot of problems with 1 or 2 clips out of every p2 store batch having a different vid and data rate than the rest. Most clips have a vid rate of 23.98 and a data rate of 5.9 Mbs. The clips that are unusable have a vid rate of 5 or 7 and a data rate of 1.5 Mbs. The messed up clips have to be rendered in the timeline and play choppy after rendering is done. Sound is fine on all of them.
As I said this has been happening for the last few weeks and just today I had a new type of messed up clip that took 23 minutes of spanned footage and sped it up be only 10 minutes long. just over 200% speed increase. The audio played only the first 10 minutes and then the clip ended. All the vid and data rates were normal on this clip.
I have no idea what is causing this and have so far been unable to find any other posts about this. If anyone else has experienced this and knows a solution to fixing it I would be forever in your debt.
I am tired of having to creatively edit all of my work so that my clients can't tell that the P2 card system keeps crapping out on me and corrupting footage that I need.
And one last note, I have called Panasonic twice regarding this issue and both times they have told me they would have someone call me back, someone from tech support, before the end of the day and today is day 3 from my first call and still no one has contacted me. I'll try again tomorrow, because it's all I can do.
Thanks in advance for any helpful ideas you wonderful folks may have.
Sad but not giving up yet,
-Bradley
