Victor DV tapes, What lube is it?

Hey everyone. Before I use the tapes that I have, I wanted to make sure that they have the dry lubricant like the panasonic tapes do. I dont want to use the victor ones if they are wet lube after using the panasonic dry lube tapes and have my deck get all gummed up. But I cant seem to find out what they use. And the label is in japanese.

Anyone use these? I would like to find out quick since I have a wedding to shoot tonight and will need to either buy some other tapes, or use the Victor ones.

Victor is JVC's parent company (i think - maybe the other way around) - so I imagine they are the same as JVC's?? I'd just buy some other tapes. Tape is cheap, reshoots arent.

You are right about that. I might just sell those tapes and only use panasonic tapes. Just a shame to not use them it if it wouldnt hurt. Better safe than sorry tho I suppose.

Hi there,
In my ignorance I have mixed tapes (dry/wet lube). Now my cheapo cams that I use for decks are giving me all sorts of problems. How does this problem occur? Does the dry and wet lube make a paste sort of thing? How do I fix this? The cleaning tapes aren't working. Will a manual clean fix it? Doesn't seem worth getting a pro clean- perhaps I should just buy another $200 cam?

those tapes are junk. everyone of them i've used has had horrible dropout problems.
