I'm kind of new to this so here i go. I was shooting a soccer game with the 100A. When I was capturing I noticed alot of the time the was a humm. After trouble shooting or about an hour, I found that when the camera was autofocusing the mic picked up the motor noise/vibration. The mic is a Sanheisser and it's about $160. i think it is the MKE 300 or something that looks like that.
Is there anyway to get rid of the hum and still use the mic???

I have a Panasonic DVC30 and my mic picks up the sound from the cameras auto focus if the mic is mounted on the camera.

Since the auto focus dont work properly on the DVC30 i always shoot with manual focus, and thus the problem is solved.

Yes very true. I am working with this guy here at Shaw and we should probably stick to manual but still when we change focus even with manual it still makes the sound. You know when you put a cell phone on a stereo system it makes that same noise.

Anyone else have options. So just dont mount it on the camera? Its not like i really want to be holding that thing though.....
