My hdslr was stolen few days ago, so I don`t have HD equipment right now.. I will be making music video for my friends (just for fun because their band is a joke) and i only have my old\trusted mini-dv camera (panasonic nv-gs230 haha). want to go for some *vintage\VHS* effects, but not cheap it must be close to original *organic look*.
So if you have some advice
-how to achieve such effect
-maybe there are plugins for AE ?
-link for good looking SD mini-dv footage degraded to the quality I am talking about

Why not just search youtube for examples? Analyze what makes vintage footage look "vintage" to your eye. Make a list of things like resolution, color cast, saturation, etc. etc., and play with creating a look.

Not trying to be harsh, but there's hundreds of "how do I do it?" posts here, and in many cases testing and developing a look or technique yourself will teach you about a dozen more things you didn't expect to learn, all while developing your own "eye" and creativity. Give it a shot, and chances are you can return here with some very specific questions vs. this all-encompassing request that could take pages to answer.
