VFR mode on the AF101 may have cost me my biggest client today!

I have to say I kinda like that it still puts audio through when in VFR mode, even if it is not recording to the camera. I usually use an external recorder, and when overcranking, it sends the video to the recorder with the sound (though not as VFR footage), letting me record both VFR footage to the camera and real time footage w/ sound to the recorder at the same time, which can be handy.

Anyway, there has been a cross through the audio for around a year now whenever it is in VFR mode, and this has been adressed all around. While I am sympathetic to anyone who makes this mistake, it is not the cameras fault, especially at this point in time.

Wow! Didn't expect this thread to get unearthed again. Still puts a shiver down my spine remembering that day.

As Barry and Oliver have pointed out, this really shouldn't be a problem for anyone now as there is a great big red cross in the corner to let you know it's not being recorded. If you're not seeing that, you need to update your firmware, pronto!

Oh and that client is still my biggest client and gives me more work than ever, so all's well that ends well :)

Very crafty client, good to have on your list. He/she knows you'll be double checking that, everything else and probably get some value added treatment too.

Cheers.
